NJ Chamber Offers Sexual Harassment Prevention Software to Members
The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce is providing a Web-based course designed to help its members' employees steer clear of sexual harassment. The educational software is free to member companies with 50 or fewer employees. Larger employers can use the program for demonstration and evaluation, but for instructional use they must obtain a license from software maker New Media Learning.
"Sexual harassment conflicts are among the ugliest and most disruptive in the workplace, and resulting lawsuits can be among the costliest," said Carol Gabel, vice president, business development, of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
The online course, called Preventing Sexual Harassment, is a practical and cost-effective way to train employees. Employees take the course at their desks at a time that is convenient for them.
Companies are encouraged to ask employees to take the course at least once a year. Upon completion of the course, employees are instructed to print out a certificate and give it to their employer.
To offer the online course to employees, companies can find a link on the NJ Chamber website www.njchamber.com.
