The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation (NJCCF) is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead and manage the Jobs for New Jersey’s Graduates (JNJG) program. The NJCCF is the state affiliate of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), a national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who are most at-risk. The successful applicant will be responsible for holding partner organizations accountable for program outcomes/reporting, ensuring fidelity to the Jobs for America’s Graduates National Model, identifying funding sources, and developing pipelines from JAG programs to employment, military and post-secondary education.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead JNJG in a manner that satisfies or exceeds JAG standards.
- Build and manage long lasting, win-win partnerships between and among in-school and out-of-school programs, local employer and post-secondary communities.
- Develop public/private mutually beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders across the state.
- Establish and grow an Advisory Board to assist in the strategic direction and financial support of JNJG.
- Identify and recruit new schools that could benefit from the JAG Model. Provide all necessary information and guidance for the schools to make informed decisions and assist with the selection of JAG Specialists.
- Plan for the growth of JNJG and ensure accountability for the delivery of services and achievement of outcomes.
- Identify supplemental programs, tools and resources to assist JAG Specialists with program implementation and accountability.
- Participate in JAG accreditation process
- Attend JAG trainings and Council of State Affiliates meetings as directed.
- Plan and execute in-state Student Leadership Conference and Career Development Conference.
Qualifications and Skills
- The Executive Director must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited collegiate institution; Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in operating a non-profit organization preferred.
- The Executive Director must have five (5) years of progressive experience in running or managing a small to medium sized department, agency, bureau or company. Familiarity with the operating of a non-profit organization and support of an Advisory Board is critical to the successful operation of a JAG Model organization.

- Familiarity/experience with the Buck Institute for Education Project Learning model a plus.
- Experience working with at-risk youth a plus.
Technology Skills and Tools
The successful Executive Director will be able to use the following technology tools:
- Proprietary JAG data management system (eNDMS)
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Social media (Twitter, Facebook, Joomla a plus)
- Digital Camera
Travel: Minimum of two national out-of-state 4 to 5 day conferences annually; 25% of time during the academic year spent on in-state meetings and site visits.
